Installation Planning Guide 7-17 System connectionsThis chapter provides cable requirements for your XeroxDocuPrint 100/115/135/155/180 EPS. It also provides informationabout channel-attaching your printer. To ensure all of your cablerequirements are met, work with your Xerox representative.Cable lengthsCable lengths are important considerations in planning yourlayout, as components can be separated only up to the length ofthe data interface cables that connect them.Cables supplied with the printer are long enough to meet theneeds of most installations. Some of these cables are specificlengths to conform to engineering and safety standards.Interface cable The printer and controller can be separated up to the length of theinterface cables that connect them. The printer and controller areconnected by a 20 foot / 6.1 meter cable, or an optional 50 foot /15.2 meter cable.Power cables The printing system power cable lengths are as follows:Table 7-1 Power cable lengthsWARNING: Using an inappropriate alternate cable may degradethe performance of your equipment and may also be hazardous.NOTE: Cable length loss must be factored in if equipment isinstalled in a raised-floor environment. You should also considerthat part of the length of a cable is routed inside the equipment toconnect with interior power or data receptacles.Cable locationsTo run the cables beneath the flooring, you must know where thecables enter and exit the printer. The following diagrams showsthat location marked with an X.Power cable LengthController 8 feet / 2.4 mPrinter 15 feet / 4.5 m
