Touch the User Interface screen tore-activate.• Press the ON/OFF button.• Check to see if the power cord is correctly installed.Documents will not feedthrough the document feeder• Ensure that all staples or paper clips have been removed from theoriginals.• Ensure the document feeder is not overloaded. The document feedercan hold 75 sheets (35 model only) or 100 sheets (all other models) of80 gsm (20 lb) paper. Use Build Job if you have more originals than this.• Check to see if the document set is fully inserted into the documentfeeder.• Ensure that the edge guides are adjusted to touch the sides of theoriginals.• Ensure that the document feeder Feed Head is installed correctly. Openthe top cover and push feed head down into position.• Check for obstructions or paper debris in the document feeder.• Ensure that the document feeder cover is closed.• Check that the device is Ready as indicated by a message on the touchscreen.Repeated paper jams, misfeedsor multisheet feeds• Ensure that the correct paper size is displayed on the touch screen.• Ensure that the paper tray is not filled above the MAX line.• Ensure that the edge guides are adjusted to touch the sides of thepaper.• If the problem is not resolved, check for obstructions where paper entersthe device.Paper Jams inside the device • Check the Paper Path for obstructions.• Ensure all the handles and levers are in the correct (home) position. Thered flashes behind the jam clearance handles and levers should not bevisible. Follow the instructions displayed on the touch screen.• Flip the paper over in the paper tray.• Check the paper tray Edge Guides to see if they are against the edges ofthe paper.• Check that the touch screen is displaying the correct size for the paperin use.• Load fresh paper.Repeated Check Tray messageson the touch screen and thepaper is loaded in the tray• Adjust the edge guides against the stack of paper in the tray.• If the edge guides were not set against the paper in the tray when Startwas selected, delete the job in the job queue and begin again.
