Press and hold in the [MHz(SET)] key for one second, thenrotate the DIAL knob to select “12 CWTRNG.”2. Press the [MHz(SET)] key momentarily to enable adjust-ment of this Set Mode Item.3. Press the [LOW(A/N)] key to select the Training mode (displayed in fine print at theupper edge of the LCD):1A: Sends five Alphabet characters onlyA: Sends Alphabet characters only (Repeatedly)1n: Sends five Numeric characters onlyn: Sends Numeric characters only (Repeatedly)1An:Sends five Alphabet, Numeric, “?,” and “/” characters (Mixed)An: Send Alphabet, Numeric, “?,” and “/” characters (Mixed, Continuously in groupof five)4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the Morse speed. You may select the units of the codespeed between “WPM (Words per minute)” and “CPM:characters per minute)” by pressing the [D/MR(MW)] key.5. Press the [REV(DW)] key to begin generation of the code characters (CW sidetoneonly, the radio does not transmit); the transmitted charac-ters will appear on the display. If one of the “1” modes isselected in step 3 above, press the [REV(DW)] key to send another code group.6. To disable the CW Training feature, press the [MHz(SET)] key momentarily.7. Press and hold in the [MHz(SET)] key for one second to exit to normal operation.The “CPM” selection is based on the international “PARIS” standard, whichstipulates five characters per word.
