4-78 Flushing with the flushing attachment1) Fit the flushing attachment (option) inposition on the lower casing, withrubber cups covering the water intakeopening. The attachment must beinstalled from the front of the lowercasing.2) Connect a garden hose between theflushing attachment and the watertap.3) Shift into “NEUTRAL”, and start theengine while supplying water, thenkeep it running at low speed for a fewminutes.cCNever operate the engine even momen-tarily without running cooling-water.Either the water pump will get damagedor the engine will overheat. Before start-ing the engine, be sure to install theflushing attachment and feed water.wBefore using the flushing attachment,remove the propeller.
