Place the vehicle on a level surface and holdit in an upright position.NOTE:Make sure that the vehicle is positioned straightup when checking the oil level. A slight tilt to theside can result in a false reading.2. Start the engine, warm it up for 10-15 min-utes, let it continue to idle for 20-30 seconds,and then turn it off.3. Wait a few minutes until the oil settles, re-move the engine oil tank dipstick “1”, wipethe dipstick clean, insert it back into the oilfiller hole (without screwing it in), and thenremove it again to check the oil level.EWAB0010WARNINGThe exhaust pipes are very hot during andfollowing operation. To prevent burns whenremoving the oil filler cap, use extra carenot to touch the exhaust pipes.NOTE:The engine oil tank is located in front of theframe.4. Check:• Engine oil levelThe engine oil level should be between theminimum level mark “a” and maximum levelmark “b”.Below the minimum level mark → Add therecommended engine oil to the proper level.1baECA10010CAUTION:Do not operate the vehicle until you knowthat the engine oil level is sufficient.EWA10360WARNINGNever remove the engine oil tank cap afterhigh-speed operation, otherwise hot engineoil could spout out and cause damage orinjury. Always let the engine oil cool downsufficiently before removing the oil tank cap.Recommended oilRefer to the chart for the engineoil grade which is best suitedfor certain atmospheric temper-atures.API standard SE, SF, SG or high-er grade.CAUTION:• Engine oil also lubricates the clutch andthe wrong oil types or additives couldcause clutch slippage. Therefore, do notadd any chemical additives or use engineoils with a grade of CD “c” or higher anddo not use oils labeled “ENERGY CON-SERVING II” “d” or higher.• Do not allow foreign materials to enter thecrankcase.
