44TROUBLESHOOTING (continued)Symptoms That Seemingly Appear to be Failures (continued)See pagePoint to checkSymptom• There are locations on the screen that are different from theperiphery (*).*Points that do not light, points with brightness differentfrom that of the periphery, points with colour different fromthat of the periphery, etc.• Vertical noises appear, depending on the screen contents.• Coarse horizontal stripes appear in FULL display.• Flickering in the form of horizontal lines oscillating up anddown.(PC INPUT MODE only)• The top of the monitor heats up.• Text characters are displayed with varying thicknesses.• The screen becomes dark and the images cannnot be seenduring VTR special playback (fast forward, rewind)• During multi picture mode, sub pictures are not displayed.• The screen display sizes are not switched.• Images from AV6 (HDMI) are not displayed.• High-precision technology is used to manufacture theplasma display panel, However in some cases, there areminor defects in some parts of the screen. Please note thatthis is not a malfunction.• The plasma display panel is lighting the phosphors by thedischarge of internal radiation. Depending on the screencontents, in rare cases this may cause vertical stripes toappear because of failure to light. Please note that this is nota malfunction.• Adjusting the Clock Phase will reduce the horizontal stripes.(RGB input)• If the direct frequency from the computer is below 85Hz, trya higher frequency (upper limit 85Hz). There may be a slightattenuation of the current image.• Try turning the Vertical Filter On. For this case however, thevertical resolution will drop.• When used for long periods of time, the top of the monitormay heat up. This is not a malfunction.• The thicknesses of characters and lines may vary if imageswith a vertical resolution greater than 512 lines aredisplayed; however, this is not a malfunction.• This sometimes occurs when a component output VTR suchas the 480i is connected.This is not a malfunction; therefore, please take note that thismay occur. When it does occur, change to compositeoutput,or S.video output.• Sub pictures image might not be able to be displayed,depending on the combination.(Refer to the table of “2 pictures mode” and “4 picturesmode”)• The screen display size is fixed at “Full” as receiving 1080i/60Hz, 1080i/50Hz, 720p/50Hz, and 720p/60Hz.• Check the cable and output format of connecting device.(Refer to “Connecting to an Audio Visual Device” and“Recommended Signal List”.)3130------241350
