24 En1 Press TUNER to select “TUNER” as the inputsource.2 Press BAND repeatedly to select thereception band (FM or AM).3 Press and hold TUNING jj / ii for more than1 second to begin tuning.Press ii to tune in to a higher frequency.Press jj to tune in to a lower frequency.The frequency of the received station is shown in thefront display.If a broadcast is being received, “TUNED” indicatoron the front display will be lit. If a stereo broadcast isbeing received, the “STEREO” indicator will also lit.y• If the station signals are weak, tuning search does not stop at thedesired station.• When the signal reception for an FM radio station is unstable,switching to monaural may improve it.■ Improving FM reception (FM mode)If the signal from the station is weak and the sound qualityis not good, set the FM band reception mode to monauralmode to improve reception.1 Press MODE repeatedly to select “Stereo”(automatic stereo mode) or “Mono”(monaural mode) when this unit is tuned in toan FM radio station.When Mono is selected, FM broadcasts will be heardin monaural sound.The STEREO indicator on the front panel lights up whilelistening to a station in stereo mode.You can use the automatic preset tuning function toautomatically register FM stations as presets. Thisfunction enables this unit to automatically tune in to FMstations that have a strong signal and register up to 40 ofthose stations in order.
