When these two requirements are met, Setupcan automatically determine a configuration for you.Power ManagementMicrosoft’s Windows 95 version B (also referred to as OSR 2)power management utility is not properly implemented forsupporting multifunction PC cards. Power-managementproblems may occur when you restart your computer afterinstalling the card. Since the LAN+Modem card’s built-inpower management feature manages power for the card,the Setup program automatically reconfigures powermanagement. If you did not run the Setup program, watchfor the following symptoms:n The computer may not see the network.n In the Control Panel/System/Device Manager list, ayellow exclamation point may appear next to the 3ComLAN+Modem card listing under Network Adapters, butthe Multifunction Adapter and Modem functions willappear to be functioning correctly.n The computer may stop responding.n The computer may reboot in Safe Mode.n Rebooting gets as far as the Windows logo screen thenhangs.If you are having any of these problems, you may have todisable the power management utility for PC Card modemsusing the following procedure:1 Open the Control Panel application.2 Double-click the Power icon.3 Select the PC-Card Modems tab.4 Clear the check box labeled Turn off PC-Card modemwhen not in use by removing the check symbol.5 Click OK and Reboot.
