5 MAINTENANCE AND UPGRADESThis chapter describes how to perform maintenance procedures for yourcommunications server.Any user can perform these procedures:n Cleaning the diskette drive (Model CS/2600 only)n Replacing the fuseOnly qualified service personnel should perform these procedures:n Replacing the diskette drive (Model CS/2600 only)n Replacing the power supplyn Replacing memory chips and EPROMsMaintenance 3Com recommends the following procedures for preventivemaintenance:n Observe the environmental requirements listed in Table 1-6 onpage 1-12. Temperatures outside the recommended range can impairreliability and cause diskette access errors.n Keep the area around the server clean. Avoid accumulated dust,especially around the air intake slots.For Model CS/2600 only:n Handle the software distribution and working diskettes carefully.
