Card Services also blocksaccess to Socket Services by non-PC Card-compliant clients.This appendix describes the Card Services information for the3C689 adapter.Verifying Card Services Is InstalledYou can verify whether Card Services is installed in yourcomputer by checking the boot screen and looking in theCONFIG.SYS file on your computer.Boot Screen DisplayThe computer boot screen may display the following line forsome versions of Card Services:Card Services InstalledCONFIG.SYS FileIf Card Services is not displayed on the boot screen, checkthe device section of the CONFIG.SYS file. If Card Services isinstalled, one DEVICE statement will list Card Services, CardServ, or CS. When installed, Card Services and Socket Servicescan use large amounts of base memory.
