Installing a Primary and Secondary Pair of VCX Connect Servers 21Refer to the instructions in the appropriate media gateway manual forthe media gateways that are included in your configuration. See“Documentation Resources” on page 8 to identify the correct manual.For a VCX Connect 200 server, the media gateways are separate unitsand have this default IP address: 10.10.10.101 Connect the media gateway Ethernet port to the same hub or switch towhich the PC is connected.CAUTION: Verify that the PC and the media gateway are not connectedto any network segment.If you prefer, you can use a cross-over Ethernet cable to directly connectthe PC to the media gateway.2 Reconfigure the PC with these network parameters:■ Set the IP address of the PC to 10.10.10.20.■ Set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0You do not need to configure a default gateway IP address.3 On the PC, open a browser and enter the media gateway IP address inthe address text box.4 Reconfigure the network parameters of the media gateway to conformto the network segment on which it will reside.Refer to the instructions in the appropriate media gateway manual forthe media gateways that are included in your configuration. See“Documentation Resources” on page 8 to identify the correct manual.5 Repeat steps 1 through 4 for any additional media gateways in your VCXConnect system.Moving the VCX Connect Servers and Media Gateways1 Shut down the secondary server and disconnect all cabling. To shut downthe server, log in to the root account and enter this command:shutdown now2 If you are using a VCX Connect 200 server, shut down the separate mediagateways by removing the power cord from the chassis, move the mediagateways to their final location, and reconnect them to power and to thenetwork segment on which they will operate.
