Section 12 Testing IED operation12.1 Preparing for test IP336-1 v112.1.1 Requirements M11740-2 v9IED test requirements:• Calculated settings• Application configuration diagram• Signal matrix (SMT) configuration• Terminal connection diagram• Technical manual• Three-phase test equipment• Process bus, IEC/UCA 61850-9-2LE, MU test simulator, if IEC/UCA61850-9-2LE process bus communication is used.• PCM600The setting and configuration of the IED must be completed before the testing canstart. The terminal diagram, available in the technical reference manual, is a generaldiagram of the IED.Note that the same diagram is not always applicable to eachspecific delivery (especially for the configuration of all the binaryinputs and outputs). Therefore, before testing, check that the available terminal diagram corresponds tothe IED.The technical manual contains application and functionality summaries, functionblocks, logic diagrams, input and output signals, setting parameters and technicaldata sorted per function. The test equipment should be able to provide a three-phase supply of voltages andcurrents. The magnitude of voltage and current as well as the phase angle betweenvoltage and current must be variable. The voltages and currents from the testequipment must be obtained from the same source and they must have minimalharmonic content. If the test equipment cannot indicate the phase angle, a separatephase-angle measuring instrument is necessary.1MRK 502 073-UEN A Section 12Testing IED operationGenerator protection REG670 2.2 IEC and Injection equipment REX060, REX061, REX062 115Commissioning manual
