Usage GuidelineUse the ring number command to set the maximum number of rings to bedetected before answering a call over an FXO voice port. Use the no form ofthis command to reset the default value, which is one ring.Normally, thiscommand should be set to the default so that incoming calls are answeredquickly. If you have other equipment available on the line to answer incomingcalls, you might want to set the value higher to give the equipment sufficienttime to respond. In that case, the FXO interface would answer if the equipmenton line did not answer the incoming call in the configured number of rings.Thiscommand is not applicable to FXS or E&M interfaces because they do notreceive ringing to receive a call.5.7.3.8.5.
