This user thenadds the printer to his or her workstation (the server) and shares theprinter with other users on the network. The other users (the clients)can connect to the printer through the server via the Windows PrintManager.The client-server mode provides a way of maintaining queue orderingand job priority, but at a price. This is because:• You cannot receive printer status or print job notification.• The workstation, setup as the server, must be available at all times.It must also have the capacity to handle the print jobs that passthrough it.Notes:Windows 3.1 and Windows for WorkgroupsWindows 3.1 In order to print to a network printer, Windows 3.1 requires theinstallation of network support, such as the LAN Server or LANManager Workstation software.
