Pro-Stitcher User Manual5.2 Design MenuBottom Right-Hand Button ClusterThe four buttons in the bottom right-hand cornerof the Design screens help to keep track of changesmade to the design (Figure 5.2).UndoPress the Undo button to undo the last functionperformed.RedoThe Redo button will be grayed out until the Undobutton has been pressed. Redo will redo the lastfunction that was undone.HistoryPress the History button to show a list of all thefunctions that have been performed since openinga design (Figure 5.3). The list may be dragged up ordown to reveal more of the history. The item at thetop of the list is the first function performed andthe item at the bottom of the list is the last function.Press any of the history items to return the design tothe state it was when that function was performed.BaselineIt is important to understand the Baseline featurebecause the Pro-Stitcher software allows for a lotof flexibility in the design process. For example, adesign can be forced to skew within an area andthen that same design can be rotated and as itrotates, it continues to skew to keep it within thearea. This is because each function that is performedis reprocessed and reapplied when the next functionis performed. If there comes a point in the design process that thequilter wants to freeze the design as it is and havethe software treat it as a new design, simply pressthe Baseline button. All rotations, repeats, resizing, cropping, etc. are frozen in their current state andthe design can then be treated as a new unaltereddesign. One useful situation for using the Baseline functionis marking a quilt with multiple identical blocks.Mark the area of the first block, fit the design tothe block using Skew or other functions, and thenbaseline the design. Now the Area can be clearedand the design will maintain its shape. It can berepositioned to the other blocks throughoutthe quilt.Another case for using Baseline may be when aquilter wants to crop multiple shapes from a design. The first area is marked and cropped, followed byselecting Baseline. Then clear the area and create anew area in another location for cropping. Continuemarking and cropping the regions desired, followedby selecting Baseline after each crop to createmultiple cropped regions in a design.Figure 5.2Figure 5.3
