Pro-Stitcher User Manual8.8 Settings MenuReconnect MachinePress the Reconnect Machine button to reestablishcommunications between the Pro-Stitcher and thequilting machine. If the Pro-Stitcher computer everboots up with the quilting machine turned off, thetwo systems will not be communicating with eachother when the quilting machine is later turnedon. The Reconnect Machine button will attemptto reconnect the Pro-Stitcher with the quiltingmachine. A simple way to test whether the twosystems are communicating is to press the FullStitch button at the top of the Pro-Stitcher screen. Ifthey are connected, the quilting machine will cyclethe needle. If they are not communicating, nothingwill happen. If the Pro-Stitcher computer can detectthat it is not communicating with the quiltingmachine, a lightning bolt icon will appear in the topleft-hand corner of the Pro-Stitcher screen. Pressingthat button will perform the same function as theReconnect Machine button.If the touch screen is not calibrated properly, thecursor will not move to the point that the quilteris touching on the Pro-Stitcher computer screen.Resolve this by recalibrating the touch screen.Press the Calibrate button and follow the onscreencalibration instructions. If calibration is so far offthat the Calibrate button cannot be pressed, plugthe Acer keyboard/mouse into a USB port on thecomputer using the provided USB extension cableand use the mouse controller built into the keyboardto click on the Calibrate button. Most other USBmice will also work for this as well.This option shows version information for thePro-Stitcher software.Shut DownAboutShut DownThree shutdown options are available on the ShutDown menu (Figure 8.13).ShutdownThis button forces the Pro-Stitcher computer toclose all running software and power down thecomputer. A quilter should do a full shutdownwhen finished running the Pro-Stitcher.RebootReboot causes the Pro-Stitcher computer tocompletely shut down and then start up again. Ifa quilter suspects there may be computer-relatedissues interfering with the Pro-Stitcher, rebootingthe computer often will help.Exit to WindowsAt times it may be necessary to close down thePro-Stitcher software and use the standard Windows 7operating system. Press Exit to Windows to leavethe computer in a standard Windows 7 desktopenvironment.
