This number represents thenumber of stitches that are formed, not the numberof times the needle cycles. If the Tie-Off # is setto 2 and the Micro method is selected, the needlewill cycle three times before beginning to stitch thedesign. With the Tack method, the needle cycles 5times to form two stitches forward and two stitchesback (Figure 8.5).Figure 8.4Figure 8.5DistanceThis box represents the length of each tie-off stitchin inches. Enter a value in this box using either the+ or – buttons or entering the value directly into thenumber box.TackThe Tack tie-off method forms the selected numberof stitches forward into the design and then back tothe start point before beginning to stitch the design, thus doubling the number of stitches selected.MicroThe Micro tie-off method will form the set numberof tie-off stitches forward into the design and thenbegin stitching from there. When the design isending, the Pro-Stitcher will stop stitching just priorto the end point and then perform the selectednumber of tie-off stitches to the end of the design. This method does not back over itself and is thusmore likely to be pulled loose than the Tack method. However, it is much less noticeable than the Tackmethod because there is no build-up of thread.Distance
