These menu items openscreens that are used for advanced configuration of the 9A656-04, to configure themanagement LAN Emulation Client, to view current port status information, and any porterrors that may have occurred.Access the Module Specific Configuration Menu screen from the Module Configuration Menuscreen by using the arrow keys to highlight the MODULE SPECIFIC CONFIGURATIONfield and pressing ENTER. The Configuration Menu screen, Figure 2-13, displays.Figure 2-13 The Configuration Menu ScreenThe following explains each field of the Configuration Menu screen.SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONThe System Configuration menu item opens the System Configuration Menu screen. Thisscreen provides access to additional screens that are used to configure the PrivateNetwork-Network Interface (PNNI) feature of the SmartSwitch 9500, the Intergrated LocalManagement Interface (ILMI), and to enable/disable ATM diagnostics that are performedwhen power to the SmartSwitch 9500 is cycled. Since the SmartSwitch 9500 utilizes theCabletron Systems Distributed Management Framework (DMF), system level configurationmay be performed via any 9A656-04 installed in the chassis. Any system level configurationsthat are performed will automatically be distributed to all other 9A656-04s installed in thechassis. It is not necessary to repeat these configurations on any other module. It isrecommended (but not required) that the modifications to any system level settings beperformed on the 9A656-04 that has been elected the chassis agent. The chassis agent modulemay be identified via the Module Selection screen (Section 2.9). For details on the SystemConfiguration Menu screen, refer to Section 2.14.
