QUICK START32 CyberSWITCH• configuring a dial-out location• adding a dial-up entryNote: Installing a terminal adapter/modem is not described in this document.Install Remote Access Networking (first-time installation only)To successfully negotiate and connect with the network, you need to set up protocols and networkservices, as well as specify the system’s identity:1. Open Control Panel and double click Network. Click Yes on the Network Configuration window toinvoke the Network Setup Wizard.2. Check the Remote Access to the Network box only. Click Next.3. In using remote access, you do not need a network adapter card. Leave the Network Adapterssection blank. Click Next.4. Check TCP/IP Protocol. Click Next.5. Netware Services may remain as listed. Click Next.6. Windows NT is now ready to install the network software. Click Next to begin installation.7. If necessary, give the path to your install diskettes or CD or where install files are located. If thenetwork currently does not support DHCP or if you are unsure, click No on the TCP/IP Setupwindow. Click OK on any subsequent Setup Message windows you may encounter.8. A set of remote access configuration windows are displayed:a. On the Add RAS Device menu, set RAS Capable Devices box to the modem you will use fordial-up and click OK.b. On the Remote Access Setup window, click Network, and enable TCP/IP as your Dial outProtocol.c. Options in the Configure menu may remain at default values. Click OK. Click Continuewhen finished.9. The Network Bindings screen is displayed. Leave settings as-is; click Next to store bindingconfiguration.10. At the ready to start network screen, click Next to start the network.11. The next window identifies computer name, workgroup and domain. You may accept thedefault membership to Workgroup, and leave Domain empty. Click Next.12. Finally, you will be prompted to restart your system. Click Finish and Yes to reboot yourcomputer.The system should restart and give you the opportunity to login as normal. Your remote accessservice is now completely installed.
