Outside Automatic Dimming MirrorThe driver’s outside mirror may have an automaticdimming feature that helps to reduce glare from othervehicles headlamps. This feature is controlled by the onand off settings on the automatic dimming rearviewmirror. See Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirrorwith OnStar ® on page 2-35.Outside Curb View Assist MirrorIf the vehicle has memory seat and mirrors, it will alsobe capable of adjusting the passenger’s mirror totilt to a preselected position when the vehicle is shiftedinto REVERSE (R). Use this feature to view the curbwhen parallel parking.When the vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE (R) andafter a five-second delay, the passenger’s mirrorwill return to its original position.If further adjustment is needed after the mirror is tilted,the mirror controls can be used. See Outside PowerHeated Mirrors on page 2-38 for more information.Outside Convex Mirror{CAUTION:A convex mirror can make things (like othervehicles) look farther away than they really are.If you cut too sharply into the right lane, youcould hit a vehicle on your right. Check yourinside mirror or glance over your shoulderbefore changing lanes.The passenger’s side mirror is convex. A convexmirror’s surface is curved so that more can be seenfrom the driver’s seat. The mirror does not havea dimming feature.2-39
