AVERAGE SPEEDThis display shows the average speed of the vehicle ineither miles per hour (mph) or kilometers per hour (km/h).This average is calculated based on the various vehiclespeeds recorded since the last reset of this display.To reset this display, press the set/reset button. Thedisplay will return to zero.BATTERY VOLTAGEThis display shows the current battery voltage.If the voltage is in the normal range, the value willdisplay. For example, the display may read BATTERYVOLTAGE 13.2 VOLTS. If the voltage is low, the displaywill show LOW. If the voltage is high, the display willshow HIGH. Your vehicle’s charging system regulatesvoltage based on the state of the battery. The batteryvoltage may fluctuate when viewing this information onthe DIC. This is normal. See Charging System Lighton page 3-58 for more information.If there is a problem with the battery charging system,the DIC will display a message. See DIC Warningsand Messages on page 3-73 and Electric PowerManagement on page 3-37 for more information.Blank DisplayThis display shows no information.Vehicle Information Display Menu ItemsT (Vehicle Information): The following displaymenu items can be displayed by pressing the vehicleinformation button:OIL LIFE REMAININGIf the vehicle has this display, it shows the estimated oillife remaining. If you see 99% OIL LIFE REMAININGon the display, that means that 99% of the current oillife remains.When the oil life is depleted, the CHANGE ENGINEOIL SOON message will appear on the display.You should change the oil as soon as possible.In addition to the engine oil life system monitoringthe oil life, additional maintenance is recommendedin the Maintenance Schedule in this manual.See Scheduled Maintenance on page 6-4 andEngine Oil on page 5-13.Remember, you must reset the OIL LIFE yourselfafter each oil change. It will not reset itself. Also, becareful not to reset the OIL LIFE accidentally at anytime other than when the oil has just been changed.It cannot be reset accurately until the next oil change.To reset the engine oil life system, See Engine OilLife System on page 5-16. The display will show100% when the system is reset.3-71
