Ignition PositionsThe vehicle has anelectronic keyless ignitionwith pushbutton start.To shift out of P (Park), the vehicle must be running orin ACCESSORY mode and the regular brake pedalmust be applied./ (START) : Press to start the engine with your foot onthe brake pedal. The shifter must be in P (Park) orN (Neutral) and the keyless access transmitter must bein the vehicle.If the start button does not work, the vehicle may benear a strong radio antenna signal causing interferenceto the keyless access system. See DIC Warnings andMessages on page 4‑76 for more information.9/Acc. (OFF/ACCESSORY) : Press to turn the engineoff in any gear. If the shifter is in P (Park), RAP willengage if all doors are closed. RAP will turn off when afront door is opened. See Retained Accessory Power(RAP) on page 3‑26 for more information.If the engine is off, press this button to turn on theaccessory mode. ACCESSORY ACTIVE will display onthe Driver Information Center (DIC). Accessory modeallows use of the audio system and windshield wipers.Accessory mode must be used if the vehicle must betowed or in motion when the engine is not running.After the vehicle has been in accessory mode for morethan 20 minutes, the vehicle will enter RAP or turn off,depending on if the doors are opened or closed.Retained Accessory Power (RAP)These vehicle accessories can be used for up to20 minutes after the engine is turned off:. Audio System. Audio Steering Wheel Controls. Power WindowsPower to these accessories will work up to 20 minutesor until one of the front doors is opened.
