An indicator lighton the button comes on to show thatthe rear window defogger is on.The rear window defogger can beset to automatic operation. See“Climate and Air Quality” underVehicle Personalization onpage 5-39. When auto rear defog isselected, the rear window defoggerturns on automatically when theinterior temperature is cold and theoutside temperature is about 4°C(40°F) and below.The heated outside mirrors turn onwhen the rear window defoggerbutton is on and help to clear fog orfrost from the surface of the mirrors.{ CautionDo not try to clear frost or othermaterial from the inside of thefront windshield and rear windowwith a razor blade or anythingelse that is sharp. This maydamage the rear windowdefogger grid and affect theradio's ability to pick up stationsclearly. The repairs would not becovered by the vehicle warranty.Driver and Passenger Heated andVentilated Seats (If Equipped):Press J or z to heat the driver orpassenger seat cushion andseatback.Press C or { to ventilate the driveror passenger seat. See Heated andVentilated Seats on page 1-8.Remote Start Climate ControlOperation: If equipped, the climatecontrol system may run when thevehicle is started remotely. Thesystem uses the driver’s previoussettings to heat or cool the inside ofthe vehicle. The rear defog maycome on during remote start basedon cold ambient conditions. Therear defog indicator light does notcome on during a remote start. If thevehicle has heated or ventilatedseats, they may come on during aremote start. See Remote VehicleStart on page 2-7 and Heated andVentilated Seats on page 1-8.The rear window defogger turns onif it is cold outside.SensorThe solar sensor, located on top ofthe instrument panel near thewindshield, monitors the solar heat.The climate control system uses thesensor information to adjust thetemperature, fan speed,recirculation, and air delivery modefor best comfort.If the sensor is covered, theautomatic climate control systemmay not work properly.
