SeeElectric Parking Brake 0 184.Press ENGINE START/STOP toturn the vehicle off.If the vehicle cannot be pulled overand must be shut off while driving,press and hold ENGINE START/STOPfor longer than two seconds, or presstwice in five seconds.ACC/ACCESSORY (Amber IndicatorLight) : This mode allows you to usesome electrical accessories when theengine is off.With the ignition off, pressingENGINE START/STOP once withoutthe brake pedal applied will place theignition system in ACC/ACCESSORY.The ignition will switch from ACC/ACCESSORY to OFF after 10 minutesto prevent battery rundown.ON/RUN/START (Green IndicatorLight) : This mode is for driving andstarting. With the ignition off and thebrake pedal applied, pressing ENGINESTART/STOP once will place theignition system in ON/RUN/START.Once engine cranking begins, releasethe button. Engine cranking willcontinue until the engine starts. Theignition will then remain on. SeeStarting the Engine 0 169.Service ModeThis mode is available to verify theproper operation of the malfunctionindicator lamp as may be required foremissions inspection purposes and forservice and diagnostics. See AutomaticTransmission 0 177.With the vehicle off, and the brakepedal not applied, pressing andholding ENGINE START/STOP formore than five seconds will place thevehicle in Service Mode. Theinstruments and audio systems willoperate as they do in ON/RUN, butthe vehicle will not be able to bedriven. The engine will not start inService Mode. Press ENGINE START/STOP again to turn the vehicle off.Starting the EnginePlace the transmission in the propergear, P (Park) or N (Neutral). To restartthe engine when the vehicle is alreadymoving, use N (Neutral).CautionDo not try to shift to P (Park) if thevehicle is moving. If you do, youcould damage the transmission.Shift to P (Park) only when thevehicle is stopped.CautionIf you add electrical parts oraccessories, you could change theway the engine operates.
