Keepthe sensors clean of mud, dirt, snow,ice, and slush; and clean sensors aftera car wash in freezing temperatures.{ WarningThe Park Assist system does notdetect children, pedestrians,bicyclists, animals, or objectslocated below the bumper or thatare too close or too far from thevehicle. It is not available at speedsgreater than 8 km/h (5 mph). Toprevent injury, death, or vehicledamage, even with Park Assist,always check the area around thevehicle and check all mirrors beforemoving forward or backing.The instrument cluster may have apark assist display with bars thatshow “distance to object” and objectlocation information for the ParkAssist system. As the object getscloser, more bars light up and the barschange color from yellow to amber tored. An obstacle is also indicated byaudible beeps. The interval betweenthe beeps becomes shorter as thevehicle gets closer to the obstacle.When an object is first detected in therear, both sides of the Safety AlertSeat will pulse two times. When anobject is very close (<0.6 m (2 ft) in thevehicle rear, or <0.3 m (1 ft) in thevehicle front), five beeps will soundfrom the front or rear depending onobject location, or both sides of theSafety Alert Seat will pulse five times.Beeps for FPA are higher pitched thanfor RPA.Backing Warning and ReverseAutomatic Braking (RAB)Vehicles with Adaptive Cruise Control(ACC) have the Backing WarningSystem and Reverse AutomaticBraking (RAB) system. When inR (Reverse), Backing Warning alerts ofrear objects at vehicle speeds greaterthan 8 km/h (5 mph), and RAB mayautomatically brake hard at speedsbetween 1–32 km/h (0.5–20 mph).The Backing Warning System willbeep once from the rear when anobject is first detected, or pulse twiceon both sides of the Safety Alert Seat.When the system detects a potentialcrash, beeps will be heard from therear, or five pulses will be felt on bothsides of the Safety Alert Seat. Theremay also be a brief, sharp applicationof the brakes.
