Using the DIC controls on theright side of the steering wheel,display REMAINING OIL LIFE onthe DIC. See Driver InformationCenter (DIC) 0 122. Whenremaining oil life is low, theCHANGE ENGINE OIL SOONmessage will appear on thedisplay.2. Press V on the DIC controls andhold down for a few seconds toclear the CHANGE ENGINE OILSOON message and reset the oillife at 100%.Be careful not to reset the oil lifedisplay accidentally at any timeother than after the oil ischanged. It cannot be resetaccurately until the next oilchange.The system is reset when theCHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON messageis off.If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOONmessage comes back on when thevehicle is started, the engine oil lifesystem has not been reset. Repeat theprocedure.Automatic TransmissionFluidA transmission fluid leak is the onlyreason for fluid loss. If a leak occurs,take the vehicle to your dealer andhave it repaired as soon as possible.CautionUse of the incorrect automatictransmission fluid may damage thevehicle, and the damage may not becovered by the vehicle warranty.Always use the correct automatictransmission fluid. SeeRecommended Fluids and Lubricants0 296.See your dealer to have the fluid andfilter changed at the intervals listed inthe Maintenance Schedule 0 289.Engine Air Filter LifeSystemIf equipped, this feature provides theengine air filter's remaining life andbest timing for a change. The timingto change an engine air filter dependson driving and environmentalconditions.When to Change Engine AirFilterWhen the Driver Information Center(DIC) displays a message to replacethe engine air filter at the next oilchange, follow this timing.When the DIC displays a message toreplace the engine air filter soon,replace the engine air filter at theearliest convenience. The system mustbe reset after the engine air filter ischanged.If the DIC displays a message to checkthe engine air filter system, see yourdealer.
