2-4 Installing the Desktop Manager Software Chapter 2n If you are attempting to reinstall the Desktop Manager software, you mustfirst uninstall your current installation of the software. For instructions onuninstalling the software, refer to Chapter 8, “C50 Setup and OtherUtilities in the Desktop Manager.”Installing in WindowsThis section provides instructions for installing the C50 printer driver andDesktop Manager in Windows 95 or Windows 98. The system connectsthe printer driver to the appropriate printer port during installation (forexample, LPT1 or LPT2). You can later change the connection ifnecessary.To install the Desktop Manager:1. Insert the installation disk into your disk drive.2. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.For information about allowing the Desktop Manager software tooverwrite the C50 setup options, refer to the “Overwriting the C50Options” section.Overwriting the C50 OptionsIf you set up options on the operation panel of your C50 (such as speeddial assignments), these options will be overwritten by the DesktopManager software:❏ When the installation of the Desktop Manager software is completedand you choose to launch the MultiPASS Background❏ After installation, whenever you open the MultiPASS Background(which occurs whenever you start Windows or the Desktop Manager)❏ After installation, when you save a change to the setup options in theDesktop Manager (as described in Chapter 8, “C50 Setup and OtherUtilities in the Desktop Manager”).
