If the call isanswered on the extension phone before the F50 picksup, you still have the option of receiving the fax. See“Receiving Faxes” on page 25.FFAAXX OONNLLYY MMOODDEE The F50 will automatically receive all calls as fax calls.Voice calls will not be recognized by the F50 in thismode.DDRRPPDD Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection (DRPD) allows the F50to distinguish between incoming voice and fax calls. Usethis setting if you have multiple phone numbers on thesame line, and DRPD enabled on these lines by yourphone company. This mode should also be used if youhave voice mail service on the line instead of ananswering machine. See “Setting a Distinctive RingPattern” on page 17.MMAANNUUAALL MMOODDEE If a phone is connected to the F50, the phone will ringevery time a call comes in. You can answer the call, orpress SSttaarrtt to receive an incoming fax after lifting thehandset.AANNSS.. MMAACCHHIINNEE MMOODDEE An answering machine must be connected to the F50,and the call will go to the answering machine first.
