32The factory default user name and password are:User Name: rootPassword: cameraThe user name “root” is the administrator account for thecamera.Note• Only administrators can connect to a camera using the SettingPage and Admin Tools.• Authorized users with camera control privileges can alsoconnect using Admin Viewer. You can set the user privileges ofregistered users with [Access Control] > [User Authority] onthe Setting Page (p. 64).• Depending on the security settings in Internet Explorer, theblocked content dialog box may appear when attempting toaccess the Setting Page, Admin Tools or the Viewers whenusing the camera with Internet Explorer 9 or greater, or onWindows Server 2008/Windows Server 2012. If this happens,click [Add] to register the camera IP address as a trusted site.Checking Camera VideoCheck the camera video with a viewer. VB Viewer andAdmin Viewer are available.This section only explains how to launch a viewer forchecking video. For details on how to use each Viewer,please refer to “Admin Viewer/VB Viewer” (p. 125).NoteIf the blocked content dialog box appears when you launch aviewer, click [Add] in the dialog box to register the camera’s IPaddress as a trusted site. Viewing Video With VB ViewerVB Viewer allows any user with camera access to use thecamera. The user, however, is restricted to a limited set offunctions.When you click [VB Viewer] on the top page, the VBViewer launches and displays the camera video. Viewing Video With Admin ViewerThe Admin Viewer can only be used by administratorsand registered users with camera control privilege. Itallows complete control of the camera.The user authentication window appears.The Admin Viewer launches and displays the cameravideo.Important• To ensure system security, be sure to change theadministrator password. Do not forget the new password.• Restore factory default settings if you have forgotten theadministrator password (p. 167). Note that this will reset allcamera settings to factory default settings except for dateand time.• If you connect to the camera using the administrator account,it will not be possible to connect with administrator privilegesfrom a different computer.• If the administrator and an authorized user share the VBViewer on the same computer, it is strongly recommendedthat the [Remember my credentials] check box be cleared.• The Admin Tools and the Admin Viewer cannot be used if anIPv6 address is specified.
