Setting the Time Code65Setting the Time Code’s Initial ValueIf you set the running mode to [ Preset], you can set the initial value of the time code.1 Select [Initial Time Code].> [3 # Recording Setup] > [Initial Time Code]• The time code setting screen appears with an orange selection frame indicating the hours.• Select [Reset] to reset the time code to [00:00:00:00] and return to the previous screen. If therunning mode is set to [ Free Run], the time code will be reset the moment you select thebutton and keep running continuously from 00:00:00:00.2 Select [Í] or [Î] to set the value for the hours and then select the minutes field.• Change the rest of the fields (minutes, seconds, frame) in the same way.3 After completing all the fields of the time code, select [OK].• Select [Cancel] to close the screen without changing the time code.• If the running mode is set to [ Free Run], the time code will start running from the time codeentered the moment you select [OK].4 Select [X].NOTES• When the frame rate is set to 23.98P, the frames value in the time code runs from 0 to 23. For othersettings, it runs from 0 to 29.• However, if > [£ Display Setup] > [SDI/HDMI Scan Mode] (s only) or [HDMI ScanMode] (t only) is set to [ PsF (Forced 1080i)], even when the frame rate is set to 23.98P,the frames value of the time code output from the SDI OUT terminal (s only) and HDMI OUTterminal will be converted so it runs from 0 to 29.• You can use the > [3 Recording Setup] > [HDMI Time Code] setting to turn time codeoutput from the HDMI OUT terminal on or off.• When slow & fast motion recording is activated, you cannot select the [ Free Run] runningmode. Conversely, when pre-recording is activated, [ Free Run] is set automatically andcannot be changed.• When slow & fast motion recording is activated, the time code signal cannot be output from the SDIOUT terminal (s only) or HDMI OUT terminal.• When you are using the [ Free Run] running mode, the time code will continue running aslong as the built-in backup battery has some charge left, even if you disconnect all other powersources. However, this is less accurate than when the camcorder is on.
