Using an SD Memory CardE-43Use the procedures in this section to format an SDmemory card.IMPORTANT!• When using an SD Memory card, first be sure to formatthe memory card on the digital piano.• Before performing the procedure below, check to makesure that the SD memory card does not contain any datayou might need.• The SD memory card format performed by your digitalpiano is a “quick format”. If you want to completely deleteall of the data on the card, format it on you computer orusing some other device.PREPARATION• Insert the SD memory card you want to format into thedigital piano’s SD memory card slot. Make sure that thewrite-protect switch of the SD memory card is not in thewrite-protect position.To format an SD memory card1. Press the FUNCTION button.• This will cause the button’s lamp to flash.2. Press the CARD button.• This will cause “For” (format) to flash on the display.3. Press the S/YES button to start formatting.• “PLS” (please wait) remains on the display while theformatting operation is performed. Never try toperform any other operation on the digital pianowhile the memory card is being formatted. Themessage “CPL” (complete) will appear on the displayto let you know when the format operation iscomplete.z To cancel the format operation, press the T/NObutton in place of the S/YES button in step 3.You can save song data that you recorded in the digitalpiano’s recorder area or registration data you saved tothe registration area to an SD memory card. Song dataalso can be converted to SMF format 0 for storage.PREPARATION• Insert an SD memory card that has been formatted on thedigital piano into the digital piano’s SD memory cardslot. Make sure that the write-protect switch of the SDmemory card is not in the write-protect position.IMPORTANT!• Never turn off the digital piano or perform any otheroperation while data is being saved to an SD memorycard. Doing so can cause SD memory card data to bedeleted and make impossible to store data to the card.To save recorder area data1. Press the RECORDER button so the PLAYlamp is lit.2. Use the T/NO and S/YES buttons to displaythe song number (1 through 5) of the songyou want to save.3. Hold down the CARD button until its lampstarts to flash slowly and “Ldr” (load recorderarea) appears on the display.4. Press the CARD button again.• This will cause the CARD button lamp to flash at ahigher speed and “SvC” (save as CSR file) to appearon the display. This setting will save song data inCASIO CSR format.• If you want to save the song data in SMF Format 0,press the CARD button again.
