Choose aninstallation location where there is no risk for injury (especially inareas where children playing).Q Do NOT install the unit in sound sensitive areas (e.g. near abedroom and the like), so that the operation noise will cause notrouble.Note: If the sound is measured under actual installationconditions, the measured value will be higher than the soundpressure level mentioned in "15.10 Sound spectrum" onpage 97 due to environmental noise and sound reflections.It is NOT recommended to install the unit in the following placesbecause it may shorten the life of the unit:Q in coastal areas or other places where the air contains highlevels of salt. Corrosion may occur,Q where the voltage fluctuates a lot,Q in vehicles or vessels,Q where acidic or alkaline vapour is present.6.1.2 Additional installation site requirements ofthe outdoor unit in cold climatesProtect the outdoor unit against direct snowfall and take care that theoutdoor unit is NEVER snowed up.Q The unit should be installed in a way that a minimum of 15 cmfree space is assured below the bottom plate of the unit at allweather conditions (e.g., heavy snowfall). It is recommended toinstall the unit at a minimum height of 30 cm. See "7.2 Mountingthe outdoor unit" on page 27 for more details.Q In heavy snowfall areas it is very important to select aninstallation site where the snow will NOT affect the unit. If lateralsnowfall is possible, make sure that the heat exchanger coil isNOT affected by the snow. If necessary, install a snow cover orshed and a pedestal.6.1.3 Installation site requirements of the indoorunitQ Mind the measurement guidelines:Q Mind the following spacing installation guidelines:Do NOT install the unit in places such as:Q Where there is mist of mineral oil, oil spray or vapour.Plastic parts may deteriorate, and cause them to fall out or waterto leak.Q Do NOT install the unit in sound sensitive areas (e.g. near abedroom and the like), so that the operation noise will cause notrouble.Note: If the sound is measured under actual installationconditions, the measured value will be higher than the soundpressure level mentioned in "15.10 Sound spectrum" onpage 97 due to environmental noise and sound reflections.Q The foundation must be strong enough to bear the weight of theunit.
