B8961 and B8962 User Manual24MECH Mechanical ConfigurationThrough the mechanical setup menu, your IDeal ™ Programmable Smart Driveallows you to program in distance, velocity and acceleration units convenient foryour application.Once configured, your keypad will use these units in all displayand position reporting modes.This menu also allows you to compensate for aknown amount of backlash in your mechanical system,and to set a maximumallowable speed for each axis.Pressing the MECH function key displays three menuchoices:Pressing ‚ reveals three additional menu choices:-- · MECH SETUP ‚ --DIST RATIO BKLASH-- · MECH SETUP ‚ --VEL VMAX ACCELSpecifying the wrong encoder resolution will prevent the Smart Drive fromproperly communicating the motor and could damage it,as well as cause unstablesystem behavior. For this reason,IDC fixes the encoder resolution for our servomotors.Consult the factory if your application requires using another motor orresolution encoder.1. Use fl and ‡ keys to select an axis.2.
