3 Mechanical Installation3.1 Pre-installation3.1.1 Planning the Installation SiteNOTICEPlan the installation of the frequency converter beforecommencing the installation. Neglecting this may resultin extra work during and after installation.Select the best possible operation site by consideringthe following (see details on the following pages, andthe respective Design Guides):• Ambient operating temperature• Installation method• How to cool the unit• Position of the frequency converter• Cable routing• Ensure that the power source supplies the correctvoltage and necessary current.• Ensure that the motor current rating is within themaximum current from the frequency converter.• If the frequency converter is without built-infuses, ensure that the external fuses are ratedcorrectly.3.1.1.1 Inspection on ReceiptAfter receiving the delivery, immediately check whetherthe scope of delivery matches the shipping documents.Danfoss does not honour claims for faults registered at alater time. Register a complaint immediately:• With the carrier in case of visible transportdamage.• With the responsible Danfoss representative incase of visible defects or incomplete delivery.3.1.2 Receiving the Frequency ConverterWhen receiving the frequency converter, make sure thatthe packaging is intact, and be aware of any damage thatmight have occurred to the unit during transport.
