If your computer andattached devices did not automatically turn off when you shut down your computer, turnthem off now.NOTICE: To disconnect a network cable, first unplug the cable from your computer and then unplug itfrom the network wall jack.3 Disconnect any telephone or telecommunication lines from the computer.4 Disconnect your computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets, and thenpress the power button to ground the system board.CAUTION: To guard against electrical shock, always unplug your computer from the electrical outletbefore opening the cover.5 Remove the computer cover (see page 49).6 Press out the securing clip at each end of the memory module connector.7 Grasp the module and pull up.If the module is difficult to remove, gently ease the module back and forth to remove it fromthe connector.Replacing the BatteryCAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in theProduct Information Guide.A coin-cell battery maintains computer configuration, date, and time information. The battery canlast several years.If you have to repeatedly reset time and date information after turning on the computer, replacethe battery.CAUTION: A new battery can explode if it is incorrectly installed. Replace the 3-V CR2032 battery onlywith the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
