If anerror message indicates a system board problem, followthese steps to find the problem:1. Turn off the system, including any attachedperipherals, and disconnect all the AC powercables from their power sources. Also, disconnectany telephone or telecommunication lines fromthe computer.2. Remove the computer cover.3. Remove all expansion cards except the hard-diskdrive controller card and the video expansioncard (if they are installed).4. Replace the computer cover, reconnect the systemto AC power, and turn it on.5. Enter the System Setup program, and update thesystem configuration information.6. Insert the Dell Diagnostics Diskette into drive A,and reboot the system. Run the System Set TestGroup in the Dell Diagnostics. (See Chapter 4,“Running the Dell Diagnostics.”)Do the tests complete successfully?Yes. Go to step 7.No. Go to step 12.7. Remove the Dell Diagnostics Diskette from driveA , turn off the system, disconnect it from ACpower, and remove the computer cover.8. Reinstall one of the expansion cards you removedin step 3, and repeat steps 4 and 5.See your system documentation for instructions.9.
