We recommend using the surroundmodes as described below in order to achievethe maximum effect for the specific signalsource.is a 6.1-channel/7.1-channel surroundmode.Sources recorded in Dolby Digital EXDOLBY DIGITAL EX / +PLIIx*1( page 31)• This mode is optimized for playingsources recorded in Dolby Digital EX.Sources recorded in DTS-ESDTS-ES DSCRT 6.1 / MTRX 6.1,+PLIIx* 1( page 31)• This is the optimum mode for playingsources recorded in DTS-ES.Dolby Digitalor DTS Surround (5.1 ch sources)2 ch sources recorded in DolbySurroundWIDE SCREEN ( page 37, 38)• Effective for 2-channel sourcesrecorded in Dolby Surround or for7.1-channel playback with 5.1-channel sources.DOLBY DIGITAL /DOLBY DIGITAL+PLIIx* 1 /DTS SURROUND / DTS 96/24 /DTS+PLIIx*1 / DTS+NEO:6( page 31)• This mode is optimized for playing5.1-channel or 7.1-channel music.• For Dolby Surround recordingsources, Dolby Pro LogicII playbackis conducted.Sources recorded in stereoSources recorded in monauralPURE DIRECT ( page 30)• By suspending all circuits andprocesses not required, analog inputmusic playback can be played withoptimum quality.DIRECT / STEREO ( page 30)• Effective for achieving pure playback.• If there is no need for tone control ordistribution of the low frequencies infunction of the speakerconfiguration, select the DIRECTmode to achieve the best soundquality.DENON Original Surround Modes( page 37, 38)• Select these for 7.1-channelplayback with sources recorded instereo or monaural.• The effects are different for each ofthe surround modes.
