The SIAC-Bis available in two, three, or four breaker configurations enabling power to completely bypass the UPS. The UPScan then be safely serviced or replaced without interrupting power to critical systems. The four breakerconfiguration provides a convenient method for removing power from the UPS when using the maintenancebypass to supply the load. The SIAC-B is housed in a cabinet attached to the UPS cabinet. The SIAC-B may beinstalled on either the right or left side of the UPS cabinet. The SIAC-B can also be used for top entry wiringaccess.1.2.4 Top Entry Wiring SidecarIf required, a sidecar is available for top entry power wiring. The sidecar performs the function of a wirewayrouting the wires to the terminals mounted at the bottom of the UPS cabinet. The sidecar can be installed onthe left or right side of the UPS cabinet.1.2.5 Monitoring and CommunicationMinislot Cards – Optional Minislot cards support several protocols, such as SNMP, SMTP, HTTP, Modbus®,and TCP/IP.See Chapter 7, “Communication,“ for additional information on monitoring and communication features.1.3 Battery SystemAlthough not provided with the UPS, a battery system is required to provide emergency short-term backuppower to safeguard operation during brownouts, blackouts, and other power interruptions. The battery systemshould be equipped with lead-acid batteries. An external battery disconnect switch or tie point must be usedwhen battery systems are located separate from the UPS cabinet and wiring exceeds the number of batteryterminals available.A supplemental 48 Vdc shunt trip signal for the battery disconnect device is provided by the UPS, but is notrequired for normal operation1.4 Basic System ConfigurationsThe following basic UPS system configurations are possible:l Single UPS with one to four external battery cabinetsl Single UPS with one to four external battery cabinets and accessory cabinetsThe UPS system configuration can be enhanced by adding optional accessories such as a Remote EmergencyPower-off (REPO) control or Minislot communication cards.1.5 Using This ManualThis manual describes how to install and operate the Eaton 93PM 60–100 kW. Read and understand theprocedures described in this manual to ensure trouble-free installation and operation. In particular, bethoroughly familiar with the REPO procedure (see paragraph 6.3.11).The information in this manual is divided into sections and chapters. The system, options, and accessoriesbeing installed dictate which parts of this manual should be read. At a minimum, Chapters 1 through 4and Chapter 6 should be examined.Read through each procedure before beginning the procedure. Perform only those procedures that apply to theUPS system being installed or operated.
