126.5 Closing apparatusAny foreign matter shall be removed fromthe apparatus. The switch handle on the cover of the manualmotor starter shall be in the position it hadwhen the apparatus was opened. When fitting the apparatus cover, care shallbe taken to ensure that the switch shaft ofthe switch insert engages correctly in thecarrier hole of the switch handle. To ensure the required minimum degree ofprotection, the cover screws shall be tighteneddown.Overtightening may impair the degree ofprotection.6.6 Putting into operationBefore putting the apparatus into operation, the tests specified in the individual nationalregulations shall be performed. In addition to this, before being put intooperation, the correct functioning of theapparatus and installation of the apparatus shallbe checked in accordance with these operatinginstructions and other applicable regulations. The zero setting of the measuring instrumentneedle shall be checked before putting it intooperation. If necessary, the measuringinstrument needle shall be set to zero using theadjustment screw. The gas group (IIB or IIC) of the intrinsically safecircuit shall be taken into consideration for theevaluation of the gas group of the built-incomponents.If intrinsically safe circuits are switched orfed in the control switches, the limitingelectrical values that are decisive for the”Intrinsic Safety“ shall be observed. The improper operation of control switchesmay result in the invalidation of theguarantee.7 Maintenance / ServicingThe valid national regulations for theservicing / maintenance of electricalapparatus for use in potentiallyexplosive atmospheres shall be observed(IEC/EN 60079-17).Prior to opening the enclosure, it isnecessary to ensure that the voltage supplyhas been isolated or to take suitableprotective measures.Working with live circuits is permissible forintrinsically safe circuits. The necessary intervals between servicingdepend upon the specific application and shallbe stipulated by the operator according to therespective operating conditions.During servicing, above all, the parts on whichthe explosion protection depend, (e.g.intactness of the flameproof components, theenclosure, the seals and cable entries), and theswitch mechanism function of the controlswitch shall be checked. If, in the course of servicing, it is ascertained, that repairs are necessary, section 8 of theseoperating instructions shall be observed.8 Repairs / Overhaul /ModificationsOnly original CCH / CEAG parts shall be usedfor carrying out repairs. In the event of damage to the flameproofencapsulation, replacement of thesecomponents is mandatory. In case of doubt, the respective apparatus shall be sent toCCH / CEAG for repair.Repairs that affect the explosion protectionmay only be carried out by CCH / CEAG orby a qualified electrician in compliance withthe respective national regulations.(IEC/EN 60079-19)Apparatus modifications or design changes arenot permitted; excepted from this are the fittingof additional cable entries within the scope ofthe apparatus approvals and the adjustment ofthe locking position in accordance withseparate conversion instructions (obtainablefrom manufacturer).9 Disposal / RecyclingThe respective valid national regulations forwaste disposal shall be observed whendisposing of apparatus. To facilitate recycling of individual parts, partsmade of moulded plastic shall bear the markingfor the type of plastic used. The product range is subject to changes andadditions.EControl switch, GHG 292 and control switch withmeasuring instrument, GHG 293Inner wall ofenclosureInternalearth plateInternalearthconnectionFig. 26.4 Flange* and metal platesand external earth connectionIf flange plates have to be dismantled, (e.g. todrill entry holes), when replacing the plates, inorder to maintain the minimum degree ofprotection, it is necessary to ensure that theflange plate and the fixing clamp fit correctly.PE conductors fed from outside shall beconnected to the PE terminal provided onthe flange. In case an external earth connection is mountedon the plastic enclosure, it should be connectedwith a max. 25 mm² wire. This earth connection is inserted through a M6drill in the inner wall of the enclosure(see fig. 2).Warning: Metal flanges, metal plates andmetal glands shall be incorporated in thepotential equalization.* not yet certified for category II D
