Other additions (e.g. details relating tothe year) shall be observed. The apparatus are conform to the standardsspecified in the EC-Declaration of conformity, enclosed separately.4 Field of applicationThe control switches are intended for use inpotentially explosive atmospheres in zones 1and zones 2 as well as in zones 21 and zones22 in accordance with IEC/EN 60079-10-1 andIEC/EN 60079-10-2!The enclosure materials used, including anyexternal metal parts, are high quality materialsthat ensure a corrosion resistance andresistance to chemical substances according tothe requirements for use in a ”normal industrialatmosphere”:- glass-fibre reinforced polyester- impact resistant polyamide- special steel AISI 316 LIn case of use in an extremely aggressiveatmosphere, please refer to manufacturer.5 Application / PropertiesThe control switches are used for the localswitching of electric drives in potentiallyexplosive gas atmospheres. The design of the switch contact block (withmax. 3 levels = 6 contacts) is dependent uponthe respective application.Details relating to the electric contacts can befound on the switch contact block.Specially marked special versions of the controlunits can be used in ”intrinsically safe circuits”.The electrical limiting values that are decisivefor the intrinsic safety shall be observed. The version with gold-tipped contacts is suitedfor switching extra-low voltage circuits. Specialattention shall be paid to the maximum currentload (see technical data, page 8). The contactchamber of the gold-tipped version is markedwith the letter ”G” or colour-coded.To ensure a safe and reliable disconnection, compulsory opening contacts are standard.A safe and reliable closing of the special contactis achieved by a special version of the compul-sory closing contact. The contact chamber of thecompulsory closing contact is marked with theletter ”Z” or it is also colour-coded.The measuring instruments are used to indicatethe pick-up current of the respective electricalapparatus (single phase).See ”Technical Data” for details of measuringmechanism, accuracy and connection.Max. safe voltage Um: 690 VeffSafe galvanic isolation from all other circuitsand earth1.3 Intrinsically safe switch circuits:
