Using the surface elements, ge.com£..LError Alerts (Flashing "E"/"c" and "E....o")Error olerts indicote o temporory problemthat may be corrected by the user.Cleer Kegpad--lf the display flashes "E"alternating to "c", the keypad is sensingcontinuous activation of one or morekeypads. Clean or clear any obstructionson the keypad area. Obstructions may bewater, food spills,a utensil or other objects.To resume cooking, touch the ON/OFF pad,then select the power level.Over Tempereture--lf the display flashes"E" alternating to "o", the cooktop sensorindicates thot the induction element orelectronics have overheated.Touch the ON/OFF pad and ollow thecooktop to cool for 30 to 45 minutes beforeoperation can begin agoin.If either of these conditions persist,call for service.IMPORTANT:If the "E" flashes alone,without alternating to a "c" or "o', ahardware error has occurred. Callforservice.Overheoting of the element is coused bgplocing on emptg pon on the element ondselecting o high power level.The elementsensor detects verg high temperotures(obove normol cooking temperotures),turns off the power ond displogs the error.A second potentiol couse of this error iso lock of cooling oir to the bottom of thecooktop, which con couse overheotingof the electronics. If this situotion occurs,moke sure the oir inlet below the cooktopis unobstructed.CONTROLLOCKControl LockIMPORTANT:As o convenience, gou conlock the entire cooktop ot ong time when itis not in use or before cleoning. Locking thecooktop will prevent surfoce elements frombeing turned on occidentollg.To lock the cooktop:Touch ond hold the CONTROLLOCKpodfor 5 seconds.A two-beep signal will sound, ond theCONTROLLOCKlight will glow, indicotingthot the cooktop is locked.If the cooktop is locked while o surfoceelement is in use, it will outomoticollgturn off.The CONTROLLOCKdoes not offect thetimer. If Control Lock is set while the timer iscounting down, it will continue to operote.To unlock the cooktop:Touch ond hold the CONTROLLOCKpodogoin for 5 seconds.
