REPLACE GAS VALVE1. If the dryer has the STEAM DEWRINKLING feature, there will be a protective metal casing housing thegas valve. To access the valve, remove three Phillips-head screws and lift to release casing.2. Disconnect the wire harness from the automaticvalve (1st stage and 2nd stage) and from the Igniter.STEP 4REMOVE THE BELT CONT.3. Slowly release the right idler arm4. Remove the belt from the motor pulley groove5. Push the left idler arm to the left6. Remove the belt from its groove on the left idlerpulley7. Remove the belt from the dryerSTEP 2REMOVE THE DRUM• Place one hand underneath the belt at the top of thedrum while firmly gasping the front lip of the drumwith the other hand. Lift the drum up and pull out.STEP 3REPLACE GAS VALVE CONT.3. Remove the two screws at the front of the bracketand remove the gas valve assembly. Be careful notto damage the ignitor.4. Install the new LP (Propane) gas valve assembly.5. Secure the gas valve assembly bracket with twoscrews. Be careful not to damage the ignitor.6. Connect the wire harness.7. Turn on the gas supply. Check for leaks using anammonia bubble solution.WARNING: Never use an open flameto test for gas leaks.8. Check manifold pressure: Unscrew the plug from themanifold pressure tap and connect a pressure testgauge. Reconnect the electrical power to the dryer.CAUTION: Do not touch any electricalcomponents when the dryer is under power andnot assembled.9. Start the dryer without the drum and the drive belt(make sure to disengage the belt switch by liftingthe Right Idler Arm and to connect the door switch).Motors should run, the igniter become red hotand the flame should turn on in some 30 seconds.Read the test gauge pressure while the flame is on.Flame will cycle on and off. The pressure should bebetween:HI FIRE 2nd stage ON, 1st STAGE ON min. 21.6cm (8.5”), max 23.1 cm (9.1”) of waterLO FIRE 2nd stage ON, 1st STAGE OFF min 12.7cm (5”), max 14.22 cm (5.6”) of waterNOTE: If pressure needs adjustment, tune only the HIFIRE. If the HI FIRE is ok but the LOW FIRE pressureis out of range, gas valve is defective and should bereplaced.STEP 4Remove screwsRemove screwRemove screwsPlug3Blower Motor (not shown)
