The G3X Touch VFR navigation database is limited topresent only the waypoints for the final approach leg of a published procedure. These waypoints and associated course line are made available for monitoringpurposes only.NOTE: This section is not applicable if an external GPS navigator is configured.Approach configuration is handled via the external GPS navigator’s controlsonly. Refer to the external GPS navigator’s Pilot’s Guide for more information. An approach can be loaded at any airport that has one available, and providessituational awareness for non-precision and precision approaches to airports withpublished instrument approach procedures. Only one approach can be loaded at atime in a flight plan. If an approach is loaded when another approach is already in theactive flight plan, the new approach replaces the previous approach.Whenever an approach is selected, the choice to either “Load Approach” or “ActivateApproach” is given. “Load Approach” adds the approach to the end of the flight planwithout immediately using it for navigation guidance. This allows continued navigationvia the intermediate waypoints in the original flight plan, but keeps the procedureavailable on the Active Flight Plan Page for quick activation when needed. “ActivateApproach” also adds the procedure to the end of the flight plan but immediatelybegins to navigate to the first waypoint in the approach.
