For applications using 16 AWG wire, contact Garmin for information regarding connectorcrimp positioner tooling.3.3 Antenna InstallationFor the COM, VOR/LOC, and Glideslope antennas, follow the manufacturers’ instructions. Avoidrunning other wires and coaxial cables near the VOR/LOC antenna cable.CAUTIONDo not use construction grade RTV sealant or sealants containing acetic acid. Thesesealants may damage the electrical connections to the antenna. Use of these type sealantsmay void the antenna warranty.3.4 Cable Installation1. Route the coaxial cable to the rack location keeping in mind the recommendations of Section 2.Secure the cable in accordance with good aviation practice.2. Trim the coaxial cable to the desired length and install the BNC connector (330-00087-00) perthe cabling instructions on Figure 3-1. If the connector is provided by the installer, follow theconnector manufacturer’s instructions for cable preparation.Figure 3-1. Coaxial Cable Installation3. Contacts for the 78, 62, and 44 pin connectors must be crimped onto the individual wires ofthe aircraft wiring harness.
