The GMX 200 will progressthrough a series of startup screens. The final startupscreen shows System Information and the results ofthe Self-Test.PowerThe power and display brightness are controlled by arocker switch.Power Rocker SwitchPress both the “-” and “+” rocker switches and holdthem down for at least three seconds to turn the poweroff.BrightnessPress the “-” and “+” rocker switches individuallyto adjust the display brightness manually. Press the“-” and “+” rocker switches at the same time for oneto three seconds, then release them to have the GMX200 set the brightness automatically based on currentlighting conditions.Rotary KnobThe rotary knob on the lower right corner of theGMX 200 is used to move the cursor in Pan mode andto zoom in and out while viewing maps. The rotaryknob complements the action of the function keysin some functions by pressing and turning the knob.Arrows will appear above the function keys indicat-ing the direction to turn the rotary knob for the sameeffect. Press the function (FN)key repeatedly to scroll through the available func-tions. The functions will appear above the “smart”function keys in turquoise.“Smart” Function Keys“Smart” Function Key LabelsFunction KeysUse the FN key to display a list of the main func-tions, such as Map, IFR, Terrain, etc. Each time youpress the FN key you will step through the list of func-tions. After you press one of the function “smart” keysat the bottom of the display, the function keys changeto provide options to control the display related to thecurrent function, now in green. Change the functionkeys back to the function list by pressing the FN key.
