190-00607-02 Rev CDetailed OperationSelecting INFO for a Chart in the IFR FunctionchartView FunctionThe ChartView Function is accessed by pressingthe FN Function key and selecting the ChartView(CHART) function. The ChartView Function incorporates five menuitems that control two basic operations:• Selecting a chart (for static viewing)• Loading a chart (for map overlay)The term “Selecting a chart” is used to designatethat a given chart is selected for static viewing on thescreen. This is typically done by first specifying theairport, then the specific chart for that airport. The term “Loading a chart” is used to designatethat a given chart is loaded for flight operations andcan be used as an actual overlay on the maps. Loadinga chart through the ChartView Function is identical toloading a chart from the Custom/IFR map as describedin previous sections. All charts within the database, geo-referenced ornot, can be statically viewed from the ChartView Func-tion. Only geo-referenced charts can be loaded formap overlay purposes. The ChartView Function will retain the last viewset and will not change the chart, zoom level, or pansetting when the function is exited and re-entered,allowing it to operate similar to a physical chartmanual. An exception to this is when a chart is loadedin the Custom or IFR Map functions. When this isdone, the loaded chart is set as the currently selectedchart in the ChartView function.ChartView Example:1. Press FN and then CHART.2. Dependng on the Chart status last used:a.
