57Section 3Network SettingsPhone OperationNetwork PageNetworkNetwork settings allow you to determine network preferences, view thestatus of the current network operator, select a network, and enable/disablethe Service Indicator (LED).Network Selection - When Roaming outside your home networkthis feature allows you to determine whether you want the NavTalkto select a network automatically or allow you to choose a networkof your own choice. Highlighting this field and pressing ENTER willdisplay the Searching for Network PagePreferred Networks - Allows you to choose a network from a list ofpreferred networks that you have created and stored in the unit or thathave been programmed into the SIM card.To enter preferred networks to the selection list:1. Use the ARROW key to highlight the Preferred Network fi eld and pressENTER to display the Preferred Network List.2. Use the ARROW key to move to an empty slot on the list and pressENTER to start the entry process. Use the KEYPAD to enter the codefor the network. The network name will appear above the entered code.To select a network from the preferred networks list:1. Select ‘Manual’ from the Network Selection Field Options.2. Highlight the Preferred Networks field and press ENTER to display thelist of networks.
