5ReferenceYou can enter both namesand numbers using theROCKER keypad andENTER key inprogrammable fields.Entering DataNaming a waypoint, entering a street address orplacing any sort of data that has not been pre-definedrequires the use of both the ROCKER keypad and theENTER key.To enter a name or number in a data field:1. Once you have accessed a page with programmabledata fields (i.e. ‘Mark Waypoint’, ‘Find Address’) youcan use the ROCKER keypad to move the cursor(Highlight) to fields on the page. Use the Up/Downbars to move up or down and the Left/Right bars tomove sideways.2. Pressing the ENTER key with the field highlightedbegins the process for entering data in the form ofalphanumeric characters.3. Use the ROCKER keypad Up/Down bars to cyclethrough numbers 0 to 9, plus, minus symbols, blankspace, and the alphabet. Pressing and releasing thekeypad moves you character by character throughthe list. Pressing and holding the keypad moves yourapidly through the list.4. Use the ROCKER keypad Left/Right bars to moveto the next character on the line or backwards toedit characters.5. When data entry is completed press ENTER toaccept data, then move to the next programmablefield. Not all data fields are programmable, like thedate and time.
