23ReferenceRoute PageRoute navigation allows you to create a sequence ofintermediate waypoints which lead you to your finaldestination. The eMap will store one route, with up to 50waypoints. A Route can be created and modified from theRoute Page or can be created in MapSource and savedinto the eMap.To create a route by entering the name ofeach waypoint:1. Access the ‘Route’ page from the Main Menu.2. The Current Route is displayed or if no new route hasbeen created the name field will state ‘Empty’ andwill be highlighted.3. Press the MENU key to pop-up the options menuand with ‘Add Waypoint’ highlighted press theENTER key to display the ‘Find’ menu which listsWaypoints, Cities, Exits, Points of Interest, Addressesand Intersections. All of these categories can beused to create a waypoint on the ‘Route’ list.4. Begin the process of selecting waypoints to add tothe Waypoint list. Choose a waypoint, city, etc. andpress the ENTER key to display the page for thatlocation. Highlight the ‘OK’ button and press theENTER key to place it on the Route list of waypoints.The route title will change as you add waypoints.To navigate the route :1. When you have finished adding waypoints to theRoute, press the MENU key to pop-up the Routeoptions menu and select ‘Start Navigation’ and pressthe ENTER key.Observe that the Map Page is displayed and the mappointer is pointing in the direction of the first waypoint onthe route, the compass has changed to a direction arrowand the distance to the first route waypoint is displayedabove the map. A route line on the map connects all of theroute waypoints. Travel to the first waypoint on the routeusing the pointer and map detail for guidance. When routedirection changes, an ‘Approaching Turn’ message willappear on the screen.Route Displayed on Map PageSelect Waypoints, Cities,Exits, Points of Interest,Addresses and Intersections tobuild your route.Route Page with a namedRoute, list of waypoints, andcities. When navigating aRoute, the Distance and ETA(arrival time) will display atthe bottom of the page.
