Clean the unit using a cloth dampened with amild detergent solution and then wipe dry. Avoidchemical cleaners and solvents that may damage plasticcomponent s.StorageStoring alkaline batteries in the unit for extendedperiods is not recommended. In order to reduce thechance for battery leakage in the battery compartmentand map data cartridge slot, remove the batteries whenstoring the unit for more than six months.Water ImmersionThe eMap is not waterproof. It may withstandmomentary immersion if retrieved quickly and wipeddry. However, the battery compartment and mapcartridge slot may retain residual water and should bewiped out with a clean cloth and allowed to air dry withthe compartment cover removed before reuse.Impact ResistanceThe eMap unit will withstand occasional impact fromhand to floor without major damage. However, iffrequently used in an outdoor environment, the ImpactResistant Cover is recommended.
